AS PART OF THE panel “Toward a decolonial art history,” ORGANIZED & CHAIRED BY Florencia San Martín and Charlene Villaseñor Black

ABSTRACT:

Contributors to the forthcoming volume, The Routledge Companion to Decolonizing Art History, edited by the seminar’s leaders and Tatiana E. Flores, presented short position papers on how their contributions to the volume advanced the discussion around decolonial art history from a global approach. In my short position paper, I discussed my essay on recent contemporary artworks of two artists of Polish descent who mobilize racial signifiers in their artistic practices: Jacek J. Kolasiński and Radek Szlaga.

Presenters included Amelia Jones, Amy Buono, Ana María Reyes, Ananda Cohen-Aponte, Deborah Hutton, Eddie Chambers, Jane Chin Davidson, Rebecca Brown, Sandrine Colard, Sarita See, Jonathan Eburne, and Tatiana E. Flores.
